Still have a ways to go but finally up to $5,750 for Cap1

Hoping to see a CLI for my 3 month date with my Discover card, which is only at $2,000

You just did the online automated process again, having just been denied?  Didn't call and ask for a reconsider or anything?

I just got denied for my CLI increase, which was disappointed, especially since I DID (intentionally) wait for the 6 months since my last increase time period to be up!  My scores are comparable to yours (675-699) and my income is over $200k and my debt-to-income, time on the job -- everything else is excellent.  I guess it's that CapOne is already my highest CL and they don't want to increase it any further?

I didn't know you could just do the online request over and over . . .

Did you wait 6 months between each CLI?  I did call the CS # on the back of the card to ask about the denial but actually the main reason for my call was to PC from Platium to QS card, which they did do for me with no problem.

The first increase they gave me (I think it was either from $1500 to $2500 or from $1000 to $2500?) was automatic increases on their end -- I never asked for them.

The time, I did the online chat to find out if I was eligible for an increase, and if I could be considered for one WITHOUT a hard pull, and that's when they told me I hate to wait until 6 months had passed since my last CLI.  So I waited until about 6.5 months, did the online request, and got the denial.

Do you use your card often? I do and although I have carried a balance when it was 0% interest, I now PIF. I was looking on the FAQ for Cap1 before I hit the button and it stated that was one thing they look for to qualify for CLI.  Otherwise, I am not sure. I have no late pays.

Re: More Cap1 Luv!

I use it every month, but only to the tune of about $100 - $500 (usually $200-$300), and I pay in full before my statement cuts.  So yeah, they seem to be wanting me to use it more, but it's kind of a chicken and the egg, kwim?

I did request a product change to the Quicksilver as part of my appeal email to the EO -- that would motivate me to use it much more for everyday expenses.  We'll see what they say!

Re: More Cap1 Luv!

Thanks everyone!

Discover It will be next. My 3 month is April 22 so I guess I will wait a day or two later. Any suggestions? Button? or Call?

I would really like to get 3x increase but not sure what to expect.

I wanted to ***UPDATE*** this.  Thanks to you guys here, I went the email-to-the-EO route on this, and just like you said, in 2-3 days I got a phone call response (not from the CEO, but the CEO's email did the trick).  VERY nice, wanting to help, etc.  Took all my info over the phone for a "manual review," and asked me what kind of CLI I was seeking.  I decided to shoot high, and asked for $7,500 (which would have been 3x my current $2500), figuring maybe I'd get $5,000?

She also upgraded me to the Quicksilver, with no annual fee and cash back, and all without a HP on my credit or any change in my account's age (I opened it in 2007, and had a perfect payment record, so I didn't want to jeopardize that).  She said it'd take a few days, but I'd get an answer on my CLI.

Disappointingly, they only upped me to $3,000.

I was extremely disappointed, but know that my credit score still isn't the best (675-699) and they are, already, my highest CL card.  And I did get the product change out of the deal, and -- I think more importantly -- two good direct names and phone numbers at the EO who said "If I can ever help you in the future."  That alone a was worth it, as dealing with the "English-as-a-second-language" crew that usually answers the customer service line wasn't any picnic.  Smiley Wink

Anyway, thanks again for all your help!

Congrats!!! I really like QS. The 1.5 is decent for an everything card and I have found Cap1 to be great to work with.
