Big congrats on your approvals!

After debating back and forth, and getting TWO "please accept this offer!" letters from BofA, I sucked it up and mailed them a check for $2k. A modest limit, but I'm not comfortable putting down any more than that. As for the old CO, both reps I spoke with have said that since the account has been sold, no payments will be accepted by them but I could feel free to contact the CA. It's nearly 6 years old at this point; I'm not sure what to do there. Regardless of the outcome, it's wonderful to feel like I'm back in the saddle. Once this card unsecures, I'll been on cloud nine with my current card/LOC lineup.

No need to wait 6 months, just keep an eye out here for when people start posting about NFCU CLI approvals and other thread about NFCU doing an AR. NFCU soft pulls everyone about every two months for account reviews. The last was on 9/1 I believe, so the next should be 11/1. If you want to be aggressive you can try for a CLI request shortly after Nov 1st but you'll probably get a manual review which will be another HP. I might recommend waiting until the Jan 1st AR and hopefully you'll get a soft pull CLI approval
Also you can always recon the CLI requests, especially if you end up taking the HP. What I've done as of late was try for the CLIs, if I get the 3-5 day message, I'll message them to cancel it to avoid the HP. Lastly, always ask for $25k on CLI requests with Navy, they'll counter if you're not approved for the full 25k.
Hope that wasn't too much information at once,
Oz

Congrats on your Approvals. If your Charge-Off is at 6 years and sold already, you're better off just not paying it and letting it fall off. Most Charge-Offs fall off your credit reports in 7 years. And then spend more focus on building your relationship with Bank of America. Continue to use that BOA secured card while keeping the Credit Util low while showing them promise. If they're willing to offer you a secured card, they're willing to eventually let you back in with an unsecured card after some time.
