My big Capital one Increase....

Was another $100!! I have had the card for 2 years. From $300 to $600 now... :/ I have never missed a payment and use the card as much as I can and pay it off every month. I did find out that while I thought I was enrolled in credit steps, I am not enrolled and can not enroll since I am not new anymore. The chat person suggested I apply for another card... I don't want another card. I just want a higher credit limit so I can increase my available credit!!! I am applying for a NFCU as soon as something reports this month, and from what I've seen I know my scores are good enough to get a go cash rewards... Looks like Capital one is gonna get sock drawered.

Re: My big Capital one Increase....

What are your scores? What's your income? What's your history like? I was in the same boat with a Cap One Platinum that was stuck so I cancelled it and applied for something else, and now I'm at 10x what the other limit was.

Re: My big Capital one Increase....

Have you tried their pre approval site to see if you are pre approved for one of the prime cards? They usually start with a higher limit and if you're concerned about the age of your current cap one card; after six months you can move the new card's limit over to the older card and have a larger limit.

Re: My big Capital one Increase....

According to CCT my scores are EQ-635 TU-621 EX-647. My income is $60,000, I used that and not combined with my partners. I have never missed a payment and I usually max it out and pay it off 2 or three times a month for the rewards. It is my oldest credit card so I don't want to cancel. I am going to try the prequal site and see if I can eventually combine them. Thank you for the suggestions.

Cap One can be weird with their increases.

But more is better than less and on we go....Congrats on the increase!!

Re: My big Capital one Increase....

I do have some negatives. I have a car loan that I cosigned on with my exhusband. He let it go, I refuse to pay it. It will fall off in three years, but eventhough it's a charge off every few months they decide to report LATE just to mess with my score... And I have a medical bill that is dues to fall off early next year. But nothing recent.

I have two Capital One Cards one opened in 2007 the other in 2009 I have never been late on any payment and my last credit limit increase was for one hundred dollars as well. Both accounts are at around 2k limits. This is with no negatives in any of the bureaus and never a late payment FICO 8 scores EQ 765, EX 771 and TU 791. Its just how Capital One is. I have asked several times for a manual review never got anything from it except being told to open another account which I have no plans of doing.

Re: My big Capital one Increase....

I think I may apply for the platinum, ask for it to upgrade to a QS, then combine it with my QS1 to make one card. Like I said before I am waiting for something to report next week (stupid badcock furniture marked me 30 days late when it was their fault, told me they would update it to piad as agreed when they updated my paid off balance, should hit around the 13th). Once that gets corrected my EQ should jump up and I am going to apply for the NFU go cash. I'll do them both at the same time. the waiting game is brutal.
