NFCU Cash Rewards Approval

I opened my checking account with them last night and immediately applied for their credit card cash rewards. I got an instant approval for$700. I paid $12 to expedite my card in 2 business days. I pushed my luck and applied for the Go rewards and got declined. I applied for the CLOC and got denied also. Didn't see another HP but the 1 from them for the original approval. I was super stoked they approved with my scores being in the upper 500's. Utilization is about 60%, I hear good things about CLI and hope to see some soon. My highest CC is only 2500. I'm thankful for Navy Fed. Just hoping they don't require POI with the CLI. I own my business 1099.

Thanks everyone. I happened to apply again for the CLOC and strangely it went through but it's under review. Said it will take 1 hour or less. It's been 4 and haven't heard anything yet. Sent them a secured message and hopefully get an answer by tomorrow. Crossing my fingers 🤞🤞

Your 2nd app for the CLOC likely went to review due to the duplicate app. If you'd like a reconsideration for the first app, I believe a secure message would have been the appropriate way to go. One of the other Navy experts here will jump in, but your second app might yield the same results.

Congrats on the approval, I know its the NFCU cliche, but getting your foot in with them and getting history established is a good ticket in for higher limits with them.

You may want to think about a 2nd card at 91 days/3 statements. I have seen(and have had myself) a lot of success at that point. More so it seems then a CLI on your original card.

As everyone says, treat them good and they will reward you.

Thank you. I called in for the CLOC but got declined.  They pulled TU instead of EQ which is my highest score.  I'm wondering if I should get the CLI first or the 2nd card on 91/3? I am very happy with the cash rewards. Thanks NavyFed 😀
