Can anybody help answer this question please?

No surprise on denial for the second card. You can't get a 2nd one that quick ![]()
As for the 91/3 I would honestly leave that choice to you. Some people have better luck going one or the other, while others do both of the choices. This is your journey!
Did you do a different amount on the 2nd app for CLOC? What amounts did you request on both?
Congrats on the approval!

Thank you. I didnt know hehe. I applied for 15k than 5k the 2nd time. Called it in but said they used TU (603) instead of EQ (653) FICO 8 which was lower score and didnt qualify.
Give it 3-4 months to build some paying in full history with NFCU. You chances then are likely greater for a second card with a higher limit. You will have built an NFCU internal score then and that will help with the second card approval. In our family's experience, a second card is easier than a CLI but YMMV.
@campy And yes, a foot in the door is everything regarding NFCU. We have also seen full well in my fam that your secured card does not need to graduate before being approved for a big SL on a second card.
