Hi everyone, I've had my NFCU Cash Rewards Visa for a little over a month now. Ive been using it regularly and of course PIF. As fortunate as I feel for having been given the chance to prove my creditworthiness with Navy, they only gave me a 1k limit for the card and denied my NavChek app.
My question is when should I log in and hit the Luv button ? and......is it a soft pull for a CLI ? I'm in the garden so I cant request if its an HP. The 1k limit is kind of a drag though and I would like to get at least 3k to match my QS1. I think my current scores are respectable being 4 months post disch and my salary would definitely support the CLI. Its just that whole BK7 thing thats in my way.
Thanks in advance to all you NFCU Guru's.
Where is Creditaddict when you need him ( or her ) ![]()
It's always a hard pull unless instant approval. With nfcu you take a hard pull just to check your balance at the ATM
Thanks!

Some have been successful calling right away to cancel. CA has said it's best to wait 3 to 6 months for firstcli request. Andfyi, it's a HE.
+1
3 to 6 statements. most get lucky with 3. Also if the card has never had a CLI before it will always be a hard pull for the first increase.
it is not Always a HP for the first CLI, my wife and I have cards with them and neither her first (about 2-3 months ago), mine (about 2 years ago) ( or on any of my cards from them) were HPs. I have only had HPs when getting NEW products cards etc.
I assume they are just holding back because you are just months out of the bk.
When was the last time you applied for Navchek Line of Credit?
I would probably burn another hp and try for a $15k Navcheck again now that your scores are already pretty good and see what they come back at and then we can talk about if it's worth pushing cli early on credit card or waiting out at least 3 months.

I app'd for Navcheck in Sep when I app'd for the CC. I think Im gonna wait to better my chances. I am in the garden and the HP is a no no. It would be one thing if only an SP but, now I know.
