I have been dithering about applying for the NFCU Flagship Rewards VISA and was planning to wait until I could definitely manage the spend required for the SUB. I pre-buy my propane for the year at a discount which also happens to be very useful for SUB spend.
Then the rumors about the new Flagship started getting loud. Since the rumors now include screenshots of CSR chats and even a picture of a marketing sign, I guess it's time to decide whether to apply and lock in the old Flagship even though I doubt I will find a way to spend the money to get the SUB. So, I applied a few minutes ago. Instant approval.
Details:
SL: $30,000
Int Rate: 14.74%
Income: $110,000
FICO 9 TU: 844
CC Util: <1%
Inquiries: 1/12 4/24
I already have the More Rewards with $25,000 SL since March 2022, have had two auto loans (one paid off and one half paid) and I just opened a Home Equity Loan in July with NFCU. The loan proceeds (plus a few additional thousands I have been moving to NFCU to be there when I write the check for my contractor) are sitting in my Flagship checking so NFCU is looking at a lot of money in my accounts right now. I'm sure my NFCU internal score is quite high right now.

Congrats on the strong approval and getting in before the deadline.
NFCU OG Flagship (Daily Driver) | USAA Rewards (1999 Hooptie)

Congrats on the approval. 🎉🎉🎉
I love my Flagship Rewards card. It...and my BofA CCR...see the most use with me out of all my cards.
Congrats!
Awesome! Congrats on your approval ![]()

Just an update: I received an email Sunday with a link to get my new Flagship card info so I can start using it online. The physical card is supposed to arrive in 7-10 business days.
I'm thinking about buying auto parts for my one owner barn find car that I really need to get running. I'm the owner and it is my barn.
I just need to unbury it and do a survey.

Congratulations on your Approval!!👏🏼🍾🥂
You are almost to the top of NFCU's lending limit for Credit Cards
That limit is $80K
In a few months you can hit them up for a CLI and most ask for $8000 though don't be surprised if they give you only $5000
Also, if you'd like to make it easier, you can use the online chat and tell them you plan on making a balance transfer (that's a key term for them) and ask them to move your entire CL to the Flagship as that's the only card that can carry the highest limit...I don't believe the others will let you get that high. Even though you won't be doing a BT, that does usually have them agree to consolidate your CL to one card.

I'm not sure that I actually am that motivated to increase the CL on the card past $32k. If I recall correctly, don't the old mortgage scores ignore credit cards above that level in some of the scoring? I'm not expecting to put enough spend through my cards for there to be a utilization issue if I should choose to let a balance report. I also assume I can "use" the $25k remaining against their limit for a Platinum at some point as a low interest rate card should I need to carry a balance for some reason.

Makes sense
I don't recall the answer to your question on scores 3,4, and 5 though I am certain someone here does know the answer.
Congrats! Hopefully you're grandfathered in with this card for awhile...
