NFCU Go Rewards Approval

After being denied the NFCU Flagship their denial reason “ does not qualify for min SL” trying to recon and still no go, decided go for the GoRewards Card and endure another HP.
They repulled my TU , Data points at the time
TU 704 , 5 inquiries past year with the new one, 6 new accounts , high six figure income, 4% UTI , low DTI , oldest account 18 years AAOA 5 years or so. 3-4 late payments from 2015, no other baddies App went pending again but this time about an hour after applied got a txt saying your approved. Which wasn’t sure was real Apon looking on here saw other people got it as well. Then an hour or so later got an email saying my SL was a $1,000 17% APR. Not worried about APR since always pay in full. SL is on the low side.
It’s crazy as stated in other post about my denial that members with 570 credit score, collection accounts, and so on getting such high limits( which of course amazing for anyone in that situation). I guess I will just have to show them my high spending habits PIF and Once can CLI see if they bump me up. I know many people on here say if you are good to NFCU they are good to you back. That usually 2nd card approvals tend to be a lot higher SL.

Re: NFCU Go Rewards Approval

Congrats on your approval there. And agreed on the surprise on the SL being on the low side. From the stats already given amazed they didn't give you a much larger limit to work with but guess that will come in due time.

CongratsSmiley Happy yeah abit shocking to be denied the FS and then only given 1k but as i fimly believe, in due time, the vault doors will open, especially at your income level. Navy can be a headscratcher for sureSmiley Wink

Re: NFCU Go Rewards Approval

That's interesting that it's a low SL because usually they are CL happy. I'm wondering if they are going off your total credit exposure.

Re: NFCU Go Rewards Approval

Yea not sure , from what I have seen with peoples data points and their SL on NFCU cards thought I would get a decent SL. When I originally applied for the flagship card and was denied, their denial reason was does not qualify for min starting limit , that was it and they wouldn’t clarify what that means, why I do not qualify just that I do not qualify. Just have to put some big spend on the card for couple months and see what happens when app for a CLI.

Re: NFCU Go Rewards Approval

BOOM!  Another navy approval!  Re your SL, it seems a wee bit anemic, but navy is relationship based so. Ow you have one card, a second is easier to get with a better limit later.
