NFCU GoRewards

HI Guys,

I just got an email that has made my day. Applied for a NFCU card when i first opened my acct back in June 2014. I was denied and with good reason. I then applied for a USAA secured card  $1000 and have religiously paid more than the balance due as soon as the statement cuts. Recently got approved for Cap One QS1.  I really want my cards to grow together and thought let me try NFCU again. 2 hrs ago i applied and recieved the 2-3 day response. I didnot get discourage bcus I felt I have come along way and learned so much. Just got a email update saying

Congratulations! Based on your creditworthiness, you have been approved for a goRewards Visa credit card. Your new credit line will be $6,000.00. Your APR will be prime plus 14.74%. You should receive your new card(s) in 7-10 normal mail delivery days.

I am going to cherish this new credit line and be good to it. I currently have a checking and savings with them. But USAA is my primary bank. Should I apply for a LOC as well? will they use they same inquiry. I plan on gardening until June (when I will be applying for a new car loan)

Also should I apply for unsecured USAA card and close the secured version as they certainly do not graduate or should I let this stay for at least a year?

If only i can get this paid Verizozn CO off my report maybe I can attain my dream of homeownership my 12/2015. Feeling so grateful

Hi! Congrats on your new card with a great limit! With regards to the USAA secured card, you cannot close it for 2 years because it is attached to a CD. However, if your scores are above 660 with few baddies you can apply for unsecured with them, which is what I did BEFORE getting in with Navy. USAA approved me for $7k and my secured card was only $500. Good luck with everything!

Personal Credit? Check. Business Credit? Check.
Mission Accomplished.
Thanks MyFico!

Re: NFCU GoRewards

I would say yes apply for unsecured USAA.

I would consider applying for checking line of credit with navy for $15k too.
