I ask as I called NFCU last week to inquire about moving credit limit amounts from one card to another and they indicated they only do if you close out one card.
Thanks in advance!
I've moved limits around with Navy before. I would suggest not calling them to try to do this. Do it from the secure message function in the app. I've also received interest rate reductions this way as well.
Something along the lines of "I was wondering if my account qualifies for a credit limit reallocation between card ending in XXXX and XXXX. If possible, I'd like to move XXXX limit to
XXXX card." Thank you!
The minimal requirement is that the card must be open for 12 consecutive statement cuts before they will entertain a limit reallocation.
Some people don't know this, but you can technically have 3 of the same card. So if they won't give you a limit reallocation, you can always open another card of the same product.
All in all, NFCU is inconsistent with allocation changes.
@titancylinder thank you very much for this information. I will give this a try!
Congrats
Congratulations on your NFCU approval!
