I've had periods of good and bad credit throughout my adult life. The last few years have kind of been a crap show,  medical issues, multiple deaths in my family in a short period.

My Exp fico 8 was 597 on Dec.26 not sure what the others were. Today TU 655, EQ 668, EX 687

I got 4 crappy builder cards in the past year with crazy fees, but I kept them up. I am former military so I joined NFCU 2 months ago, I was at 90% utilization when I joined, and my scores were 615-627 when I joined. I held off on the app.

I was planning to wait a little longer, I got ticked off at one of my cards this morning and pulled the trigger on NFCU and got a Cash Rewards Card with a 15k limit. I have late pays and 1 derog. Totally shocked.

Good for you! This is why i luv Navy! Members are their mission and to give our vets the help they need is a blessing. Enjoy that monster limit but definitely use it responsiblySmiley Happy

Re: NFCU Rocks

Hello everyone I'm still kinda new trying to figure out how to navigate around,

I have couple questions as I joined nfcu 10/2019 been in rebuild I started with nrewards started with $200 limit then couple months later raided it to $2600 then couple months after that I maxed it out with $5,000 limit I have had the card almost 18 months all on time payments I think once or twice I carried Bal but other wise I pay statement in full every month, now in March 2021 I was approvied for Amex more rewards with SL OF $1,800 so when I asked the rep that helped me and asked why nrewards is still secure she stated that seeing that I was only approved for SL of $1,800 unsecured could be the reason cuz I have 5k limit on nrewards so I went and lowered my limit on nrewards down to $200 and I hope and pray it unsecures as on the 26th of April it will be one full statement with the new $200 limit on nrewards my question is if it don't unsecure should I close it and try for a second unsecured card and hope I have a higher SL but if nrewards does unsecure should I leave it or move limit to my Amex then close the new cash reward and reapply for card I think I did this backwards as second card usually yields higher SL I'm lost as to what I should do or once I hit 91/3 should I try for 3rd card then request a CLI on Amex any advice would be Awsome please and thank you
