NFCU approval with multiple accounts < 1 yr

I wanted to share my DH's approval for the NFCU Cash Rewards. This is his first Navy card. I was expecting it to be a low limit since it's his first card with them, plus he has several new accounts, but they gave him a SL of $7500! With an APR of 16.49%.

He's been a member of NFCU for over a year. He tried to apply for a card in October but was declined due to number of new accounts. Which makes today's approval weird because he's opened 2 more accounts since then. 23% overall util, 8 inquiries on TU, 6 open CC accounts all less than a year old except 1 (the oldest was opened in November 2018). He's also AU on 3 of my cards which were opened in the last year as well. No installment loans. His TU Fico 8 is 677.

I don't know if it makes any difference but he's been an AU on my Navy card since March last year. I just thought it was funny they declined him in October, yet approved him for $7500 three months later! Just goes to show not to give up on NFCU if you don't automatically get desired results, they're awesome!

Yeah Navy is weird, they denied me a 3rd card and a CLI on a current card in October due to Max exposure with them but in December they granted me a CLI on both my cards totalling $11K lol.  I love them, they are my main bank and even though their decisions make absolutely no sense sometimes they are very generous.
