I submitted a CLI through the app on 6/17, after my calendar notified that I had hit the 6 month mark from my last one. I got the usual 24-48 hour notice, so I wasn't too concerned since none of the CLIs I got in the past were immediately approved. Tonight (6/22), I hadn't gotten a secure message from NFCU, nor an email on if my request was approved (or denied & to expect something in the mail), so I decided to call and ask about it. The rep said she could see how my last approved request was 12/17, and the request was dated right on the 6 month mark at 6/17, so she was not quite sure why it was showing on her end as denied due to a "recent change on the credit limit".
She offered to help put in another request right then and there, saying it showed on her end I was eligible. She asked what I was looking to raise my limit to, and I replied that I would like to request the max $8,000 to bring me to $13,000. She asked if I could get approved for $11,000, would I accept and I stated I would. While going through the required disclosures, she mentioned how the recording she had to play stated they'll pull a report, but that NFCU doesn't do that on CLIs at all anymore. After listening to the disclosure recording and her verifying my info, I was approved to raise my limit to $11,000. I asked if I should move the CLI note in my calendar to 6/22, and she said I should move it to 6/24 to be on the safe side just in case on the back end the date of the CLI shows Monday.
Every single CLI I've gotten in the past on this card was $1,500, so getting approved for a 120% increase was a really nice change of pace. I thought the question being asked if I would potentially be okay w/ $11,000 was interesting, maybe when someone calls for a CLI the computer shows how much of an increase the member is eligible for without them sending the app to the UWs for consideration?
