NFCU is a fickle beast aren't they?

Wife and I are chuckling over this.

She has a NFCU account in her name only. Has a whopping $200 parked in it since 2015. Got an invite for their Visa Platinum in the mail yesterday and said  what the heck, they're a good company.

She's a homemaker, hasn't worked in the workforce in the 28 years we've been married. Zero income other than mine. FICO score right around 750 right now with a 20 year AAoA. 2x car loans on her report and AU on several of my better accounts. Applied as unemployed listing household income.

Immediate approval for $25k w/7.49% interest rate.

Thanks. I was shocked, expected a decline or a low SL. Wife's only response given her actual income: "Seems like a questionable business decision to me!"

I've come to the conclusion, who ever NFCU paid to program the computer's algorithms for credit apps was smoking something on the install day.😂

well, hopefully NFCU will approve my membership before they fix the algorithms.  LOL  I want some of those $25K candies they've been handing out.

I don't understand what the hold up on my membership is, I applied last Friday and was told 3-5 business days...today is the 5th, so I'm hoping to hear something.  BTW, my affiliation is retired USAF and I used my DoDID number from my retiree ID for membership.

Hopefully they will soon. It took a month before my membership was finally approved.
