@lisabobisa wrote:And with the rope they gave me I did just that. Approved for More rewards 25k in 2018 and maxed out by 2020. Closed it and now committed to paying to $0 within the year 2021 so I can apply for a new rope lol. And Next time I'll do better bc I'll know the struggle.
Anyways, Congratulations to you!
Sorry to hear that you had to use it but it's still better to have the rope than not IMO. At least you're committed to paying it off. 👍

Thanks! I am hoping to get a $25K card like AJC. Would be cool to have one and have it not be a store card like the Macy's.
Lol, i like my Macys, it was my first 25k and actually went from store to bank so thats cool. But having a 29k Visa Siggy from Navy....... da 💣🤩🤑

@cleansl8tvet wrote:Thanks for letting me know how you did it. Yeah they seem to give high limits after a period of time even with low utilization. That is until you suprise them one day and just max it out and take months to pay it off. I bet there are people who eventually get tempted and take that bait going on some binge. It's gotta take some discipline to not use it all and keep that low rate going.
They definitely give you more than enough rope to hang yourself and NFCU won't hesitate to sue you for their money either. I would never burn NFCU (I mean ideally I won't ever burn any lender again but life happens) because I know if I ever have to rebuild for any reason, they'll be my fast track to getting there.
One reason im scared to fully utilze them. With how the world is right now there are 3 lenders i dont want to burn for anyrhing, Navy , Disco, and Amex ( once was enough
).

@Anonymous wrote:So I had some app itch last night and instead of leaving the garden 3 months early and throwing away 9 months, I decided to just ask NFCU for an increase on my Platinum.
Got woken up this morning by the roommate doing stuff in the garage and checked my account and they gave me a $4K increase!
This brings my TCL up to $99,400 and officially gives me my first card that exceeds my income in limit. Hoping I can get to that $25K mark.
I would say my itch is scratched but that $600 is going to irk me lol.
Jealous, to say the least. Yeah I'm pretty OCD that $600 would drive me crazy.
Regardless, congratulations on the CLI even if it meant leaving the garden a wee bit early! Seems like it was worth it, though
Thanks! I'm still gardening though since NFCU doesn't do HPs for CLIs. That's why I chose to ask them rather than apply for US Bank
And yeah that $600 is really bothering me. I don't have any SP CLIs available to fill that for the moment lol.
I guess next time Navy comes up for CLI you'll have to ask for $400 less 🤣😂🤣🤣
