Navy Approval!

I just made it through the furlough of 2018/2019 (the first one at least) and I took a hit to one of my secured credit cards due to balance reporting that I overlooked. Frustrated with my box bank I decided to take the leap and join Navy. To my surprise I was called by a specialist today to welcome me to Navy and we discussed the various credit cards options. I mulled over applying versus waiting another month until my score corrected a bit but decided to go for it. Pulled the trigger and was approved for 7k!

Congratulations. I feel your pain with the shutdown. My score took a hit because I borrowed from a line of credit to pay bills for a month. Hopefully it's just a temporary hiccup.
