Navy FCU Flagship Rewards CLI: $80K

Woo-Hoo!!!  Smiley Very Happy  Thanks to the community for what I've learned about Navy FCU, I've reached the $80K total revolving credit limit!   I choose to carry it all on my Flagship Rewards Visa.

My NFCU journey started a little over four years ago with a $10K Platinum Visa.  They denied me for a More Rewards AMEX about eight months later due to my credit-seeking, so I just decided to be patient and take advantage of the soft pull CLIs every six months.  Eventually, I was approved for the Flagship Rewards last year and was able to combine limits from my old Platinum to $75K.  Then after waiting for six months,  I attempted the soft pull CLI again and was approved for the additional $5K, taking me to $80K on FSR!

I do have multiple deposit accounts with them, but no direct deposit or other loans.  My suggestion to others who are pursuing Navy FCU is to recognize they value relationship, be patient, be a good customer, and eventually the credit limits and approvals will come.  Large deposits aren't necessary, but they do appear to reward customers who use their overall products and services.

Combined with my CITI SP CLIs yesterday (Costco + $1K and AAdvantage Executive + $7K), yesterday netted me $13K in new credit with soft pulls.   My Total Credit Line (personal/business) is now $857,800.    NFCU is now my fifth largest overall lender with $80K total exposure!

By the way, typical with my other Navy FCU experiences, I first noted the approval in the mobile app showing the new CL (as pictured) before getting official email confirmation from Navy.

They will only combine limits if you close one of the cards. So if you're going to close say a cash rewards visa they will move that entire limit to a flagship rewards visa, assuming it doesn't put you over the $80k total exposure. They don't allow credit reallocation between two opened accounts.

Total Revolving: $159,800 - Utilization: less than 1%
