The other day I posted about how I was approved for the PenFed Gold card at a SL of $9k after they pestered me with mail for months. I always wanted to get a Navy Federal card also, especially after I've spent 3 years fixing my credit back up from mishaps of my very early 20s.
I've never been a Navy Fed member until a few days ago when I used my husbands service to get in, he has a membership from when he was thinking of using them for a car loan but went elsewhere. Anyway, I just applied for the Cash Rewards card tonight and the online page and email said to wait 24 to 48 hours for review, I received the approval email about an hour later. Surprising since it was 2am. 😆
They only approved me for $2,500 at 18% but at least I finally got a card from them. I'm planning on closing a few other accounts I have, so this is perfect!
Data points - They pulled TU9 (766 score), my utilization is 2%, I have 3 or 4 inquiries, and a pretty low average age of accounts at around 2 years old. No BKs ever and I have a spotless profile with no lates or charge offs.
I'm going back to the garden now with my shiny new cards and let them age.
