I need a couple of questions answered.
1) Does anyone know if my secured card limit will be increased after 91/3 or graduation since I used $2000 for my deposit?
2) Since I was just approved for the Cash Rewards card, would it be possible to have my secured card changed to More Rewards?
Congratulations on your approval!
Wow that is a great SL - Congrats
Go Navy!!! Congrats on your approval and fantastic SL!!
Swaddle yourself in that Navy ❤️!!!

Congratulations on your new Navy card. I would wait 6 months before I would ask for a CLI. You can switch over to a More Rewards card now.
Congrats!

1) When mine didn't automatically increase after 91/3, I tried the "Increase your limit" link. It failed and told me to call NFCU with the error code. I did and the CSR told me that most people only deposited $200, so the automatic increase upped their limits to either $500 or $1,000. Since I deposited $1,000, my CLI request was declined. I suspect yours will be, too.
2) I wouldn't change the secured card to a More Rewards when it graduates to a Cash Rewards card, because that's a product change. Points don't carry over with a product change, so I'd be afraid to lose those points. As @Irv02 advised, switch your current Cash Rewards card to the More Rewards card right after you redeem any points you've acquired and let the secured card graduate to the Cash Rewards card, even though it will likely have a low credit limit. As soon as your nRewards card graduates, ask for a CLI. If they decline you, wait 6 months and ask for a CLI again. While you're waiting for that 6 months, you can always ask to have some of the $20,000 CL moved over to the newly unsecured card.

Great advice! Thanks for the reply. I'll just let the secured card graduate without asking for the cli right now. I really don't need it, now that I have the Cash Rewards card. If it doesn't increase upon graduation, I'll split some of the CR limit like you said.

I've heard that due to the cautious economic conditions right now, NFCU has been granting mostly $500 to $4,000 CLI -- when not declining them. It's probably worth it to ask for a CLI, because you have to wait 6 more months before you can ask again, whether or not they approve or deny your CLI request at graduation.
Might as well go for it. Good luck!
