Navy Federal CashRewards Approval for Grandma

Recently started reparing my grandmothers credit. Paid off all credit cards and closed all store credit cards brought everything current. Score went from 523 to 622 TU Fico 8. She had a NFCU Platnium Visa for 1.7K and a Capital one for 300. So we decided to have all her bills on autopay on one credit card including her rent. Filled out app via phone. Lady came back and said she was approved for 25K @ 12.49%. We both fell in the floor. Of course we will be decreasing that to about 10-15K. But Navy Rocks. but I am sure you all knew that by now.

Amex Everyday: 22k, BOA Premium Rewards: 50k , Best Buy Visa: 7k , VACU Mastercard: 11.5k, Discover: 25k, Amex Platinum (POT: 37.5k), Apple Card:4K, PNC Cash Unlimited: 36k, Citi Costco: 10.5k, Chase Amazon Prime: 10k, Rooms To Go: 10k

Suprised such a good APR with those scores..

Congrats to the grandma although I would be scared to have her with even a 10-15k limit with her history of not paying on time or paying at all? Would give me pause personally unless I am reading incorrectly.

Well I wil be keeping the card and managing her finances. So there wont be anymore debt. Just had of bad habit sitting at home and watching HSN and ordering clothes and unecessary things.

I'll never understand how Navy approves someone with a 622 FICO for 25k and a low apr. I'd be interested to know the income reported for that app. When someone only has a 1.7 card and $300 card, 25k is like hitting the Powerball. Navy ceased to amaze me.

HSN and ordering clothes and unnecessary items sounds dangerous to me with that cl...hopefully you can keep her reined in.
