@eddygee wrote:Hi guys I've been lurking the past cpl of months and wanted to say this site really has good info. So enough of the small talk let me get to it.
I recently after receiving a alot of Pre-selcted offers for Citi-Custom Cash, Citi Rewards+, BankAmeric Card, and Bank America Alaska Airlines decided to pull the trigger yesterday (Sept 1st)and have a App Spree after not applying for new credit cards since Apr 2019 and only doing CLI's on my Navy Fed LOC and getting bumps to my Discover it.
So here we go below :
-First app: Navy Fed Flagship Rewards 24-48hr message but APPROVED in a few hrs but only for 1k 17.49% 0-12% APR and BT (
at low limit and higher APR, I have a Navy Fed MoreRewards Amex from Nov 2018 got w/instant Approval for 15k 14.99%. Oh well plan on doing 91/3 on Dec 3rd.
-Second App: Applied for Blue Cash Preffered cold after visiting Amex Pre-Approval site and matching for all cards. Was Instantly Approved for Blue Cash Preferred w/$5k 23.99% var. immediately applied for CLI was declined told I could after 60 days. Will do a 3X CLI in 61/2
-Third app: Applied for Citi Rewards+ Was Instantly Approved for $4k 14.99% with 15,000 TYP on $1k spend 1st 3mnths
- Fourth app: BoA Alaska Airlines Visa Signature $15k 23.99% $150 Flight Discount w/40,000 Bonus Miles will do a 90 day CLI not sure DataPoints CLI Process w/Visa Sig.
Also applied for a CLI on my Discover it and got a $500 increase to bump me up to $5200 will do a 91/3 CLI and will attempt a double dip if instantly approved by calling 800-347-4856. Overall not a bad spree went from Total $25.7k CL to $48.3k. My next application will be in Dec for the Capital One Venture Rewards. I was initially pre approved on the CapOne pre-approval site but after my spree when I went back to the link it said I was no longer pre-approved due to too many recent inquiries so, I'll bid my time. In a year will apply for a Amex Gold and hopefully the Chase Saffire Preferred.
Congrats on all of those approvals!! 🎉
Excellent cards to have!
A couple of things stuck out.
1) I didn't know NFCU Flagship Rewards could be approved for anything less than $5k? Does anyone know if that recently changed, I've always been misinformed or what? I know the $5k Visa Siggy rule is fluid depending on the bank but have never seen or heard of someone getting a Flagship for anything less than $5k.
2) You may well know this but just in case: for the NFCU CLI make sure it's 91 days and 3 FULL statements. Depending on your first due date with the Flagship it may mean you'll have to wait until the 4th statement cuts to be CLI eligible, pushing you well past the Dec 3rd date. I think a full statement is one with 20 or more days?

@dcp0524
There have been one or two here that have been approved for less than $5k in recent months.
Congrats on your approvals and welcome to the forum! 👍🏼

Thanks I too was shocked with Navy Fed not sure why they were so stingy as my credit profile has improved drastically since I got the More Rewards AMex in Nov 2018. FICO scores have increased about 100+ across board and Income went from 80k to current. Maybe COVID effects, the only thing I can think of is they are punishing me on Debt to Income? Only change to profile is I took out a low interest loan in June to pay down my MoreRewards and I cosigned on a car loan back in Apr 2019 for a good "Reponsible Employed" friend who has made every payment on her car loan, but was having problems getting approved due to not having a credit history and in between starting a new job. Thats putting me at about 35k on both loans. I did a recon explaining if they were looking at that, that im the cosigner and this person has paid and not missed a bill since the Wells Fargo Auto loan was started. This was their response:
Navy Federal Response 09/02/2021 : Thank you for your message about the credit limit assigned to your newly opened credit card account. Based on the information provided in your application and Navy Federal's lending policies, your credit card's credit limit is at the maximum credit limit you qualify for at this time. You may apply for an increase to this credit limit at any time, however, Navy Federal typically requires a new account to be open at least three months before approving an increase to its credit limit.
If you have any additional questions regarding your new credit card, please let us know.
So I guess my only questions left are these two things
1. What's the SOP on Navy Fed CLI's I was looking in the mega DP thread and couldn't find clear guidance if its a SP or HP currently or if its one of those one SP and any CLI befor 3-6mnths time is a HP.
2. What's the SOP on BoA Alaska Airlines Visa Sig CLI is it standard every 91/3?
I too have the NFCU AMEX More Rewards card. Got approved for $20k on that one and my 91/3 is approaching in less than 2 weeks. hoping for an increase on that one when the time comes.
I got the BCE about 2 weeks ago. I was considering applying for the BCP because that's what I truly wanted in the first place. When I go to the prequalify link, I prequalify for all the AMEX cards. I was just just curious if this was your first non co branded AMEX because I want to app for the BCP, but I don't want to get hit with another inquiry.
For NFCU cards, as long as you request the increase on the app, it'll be a SP. If you call them and request it, they'll perform a HP.
Not sure about the BoA as I'm not in with them.

This was my first non co branded AMEX, and if you were prequalified for all their cards like I was too go for it. Let us know how it comes out. I'm going to wait a bit to go for the Amex Gold(next year) as I want to establish a profile and relationship with them, this being my first card with them.
