Newegg Preferred Account

I have been in the market to build a new computer. I've always purchased parts from Newegg, and I was originally planning to wait until Synchrony offered a newegg card (coming soon), but remembered the preferred account is a hidden trade line so no effect to UTIL and made the decision to app on Monday. After a looooong 60 seconds, I was approved for a 4k CL!

For some reason, I haven't gotten hit with an inquiry yet, which I expected. Is it possible this is a SCT/ SP approval? Newegg preferred is though Comenity, who I already have cards with.. No popups, just a "purchase could qualify for 0%/12mo" banner at the bottom of my cart that shows up pretty much all the time.

Re: Newegg Preferred Account

Not sure whether that was via the SCT. Just have to keep watch on any alerts on your reports.

Congratulations!

Keep both your credit and your body in top shape!

Congrats although not sure if it will be hidden once sync acquires it?  Just something to think about.

Good point. I didn't realize they were taking over the preferred accounts, I thought they were branding their own newegg card.

Re: Newegg Preferred Account

Congrats! I'm going to app for their card once synchrony takes over. I always shop on NE too and I think I will grow with synchrony as I've already had a couple of cards with them.

honsestly not 100% sure to be quite honest.. Just assumed they would acquire them, but I deffinetly could be wrong?  Guess time will tell or someone that knows more will weigh in.. I wanted a preferred account as well, but already had BML through paypal and messed it all up.

It would make sense for them to acquire the service, since the terms are nearly identical. In any case, if it does change from BML to Synch I will update this thread down the road Smiley Happy

Also, if you have BML/Paypal credit, isn't that kind of the same CL for preferred? When I received my terms document, it listed a quick line stating an option to use Paypal Credit at participating merchants (Or at least I think I did, I'll have to check the wording once I'm home). If that's the case, I'd speculate you could use it for newegg purchases, maybe?

Well you can use BML at newegg which is correct, but can't use Newegg preferred at other places than newegg is my understanding.. So in theory BML/Paypal credit is better in some sense, but not as big as CL's as Newegg Preferred from what I have seen or at least Initially I started out with around 1k approval I think now I am at 2500$ where as if I would of done Newegg it would of been a 2k-4k initial approval most likely due to stuff being a big more expensive.. Just my take on it.

Re: Newegg Preferred Account

From what I have read from Comenity the current Newegg account will die when your account is paid off.  I can use my current limit upto the end of the month and whatever terms exist will be in place until the card is paid off.  After the end of the month they said i will get information on how to apply for the new newegg account.
