I opened my Nordstrom (store) card in August 2022 with a $1,500 limit. In march, I called and asked if it were possible to get an increase without a hard pull, and was given $500 more for $2,000. My spend on the card was modest. A few pairs of chucks and a wallet.
So the anniversary sale was coming up, and I figured this would be a good time to ask. I asked a week ago and the guy gave me the old 'you'll get a letter in blah blah days' and that was that. A week goes by, and I'm thinking I don't really need this card, or need to protect the relationship by pestering them again. So I call and the lady asked me what I wanted to buy and for how much. So I told her I wanted an Armani suit, and $5k would be ideal. And just like that, I'm at $5k. I chickened out with the Armani suit, and bought a Boss suit for a few bucks less, but I did buy a designer suit to keep my end of the bargain.
So I guess I'll wait a few months and ask if they can convert it to the Visa card...
