Well, I burned the big banks in a BK13 and am finding out mainly through the preapproval sites that I am blacklisted. Discover, and AMEX have said as much in a letter they have sent me. No hard pulls from any of the big banks, I was just trying to feel them out. I didn't think I would be approved by them, so, I decided credit unions are the way to go. Got approved for PenFed 5K earlier this week and today was approved for Northern Skies FCU (Local Credit Union - Anchorage, Alaska) for only 1K. But, they said that that is mainly due to me being a new member and at 6 months, it will likely go up. The loan officer said they are conservative with new members, but my credit profile would normally approve me for more if I was an established member. So, there we go. I now have replacements for my Credit One card with bad terms and am in with two credit unions that will actually grow. Yay me!
