Same here. The site I found said I could prequalify "for a rate." I didn't realize this at first and I continued on with the app thinking I could get a pre-qual for a card w/o affecting my credit. After providing a boatload of info, I get to the end and I was ready to submit. But I decided to click on the link for "terms" only to immediately see "Consent for Hard Inquiry." This felt like a scam.
At the top of the page I found, it says:
"See your pre-qualified offer and rate in as little as 2 minutes."
"Checking your "rate" will not affect your credit score."
Who the heck wants to get a pre-qual ONLY for a rate? But if the applicant continues after seeing the rate, it becomes a sneaky hard pull. At least that's what happened with me. I did not continue with the process.
There must be another web page. Maybe NASA has various pages for marketing purposes. I was using my desktop.
