I'm not sure if this is an error or not, lol. Anyway, after ready enery's post last night about his PenFed approval. I guess I had one too many cold ones and applied for a membership with PenFed. I was instantly approved for membership and became more brazen and since I don't have an amex card; I applied for the Defender Amex card. I received a pending for review with loan officer message. I've read many postings of PenFed being very conservative as well as Amex and expected a denial since my file has some blemishes. Today I checked the status of my application several times through the website and saw it was still pending. I just checked the status about 30 minutes ago and saw that the application had been reviewed. There was a portion that said almost done, then to the right of that, was a green box which said complete. I clicked on the green complete box and to the left of the screen showed green check marks and the pages began loading. After approx. 3 minutes ,a screen popped up saying congratulations and I was approved for the Defender Amex card with a 10.99 APR and cl of $16,000. I stared at it and began laughing, unbelievable right? Anyways, I didn't print it, I just stared at the page in disbelief. Finally, I exited out and logged back in. When I logged back in; I didn't see anything regarding the message. When I check my status, it now shows a green check near the review section I mentioned earlier but, the green complete box to the right is not there. My question is; has anyone experienced this before with PenFed and does this sound like an actual approval from them. Please forgive any typos.
