Update: Through an unrelated phone call into PenFed yesterday, I had mentioned the feedback I had left in the survey I had done earlier that day and the CSR I was speaking with generously offered to look into my request for a CLI. To make a long story short, my credit limit is in the process of being increased to $10k. It wasn't as quick of a process as I had thought it might be. They basically had to open up a whole new credit application (thankfully, it was all done with the original credit pull) and the tremendously helpful analyst I was dealing with had to work some background magic to make it all happen, but it won't be finalized for a couple of business days. Incidentally, today I got a call about the feedback I left in the survey, but the CSR had seen that the issue was taken care of already by his colleague and just asked if there was any other questions or concerns I might have. The surveys really do get read, so if you're new to PenFed, don't forget to fill it out if you receive one, especially if you're wanting a CLI.
I feel like any way I state this, I'm not sufficiently doing PenFed justice because their customer service is incredible and unlike anything I've ever experienced (not even from Amex). If I had to, I would close every other card and account I have and just use PenFed for everything because that's how comfortable I feel now doing business with them.
