A couple of years back I first got in with Penfed, detailed here. It was an arduous process for small reward -- $2000 SL that until today had not grown despite me tossing HPs at it like rice at a wedding. "No more!" I said, more than once, after another failed app or CLI. But I've been abstinent since January and was prepared to wait until a CLI showed in OFFERS.
Two things happened:
1) Quarterly offers came & went (October 1st) with nothing for me;
2) An EQ HP aged off (12 + months) this week dropping my number from 4 to 3, yet I saw zero change in FICO score.
So it didn't take my brain long to decide if I didn't gain points dropping a HP then I wouldn't lose points taking a HP -- in essence a free spin of the wheel! Who doesn't love free stuff? Who doesn't love spinning a wheel?
Logged in, updated income, housing, employment. The wheel spun for a few seconds & then disconnected me. But seconds later I got an APPROVAL email -- new CL $20,000.
Thinking I might now ask for a 2nd card ...
DPs:
(expected) HP -- EQ9 778;
INQ: 3 last 12 months ; 1 last 6 months;
No derogs;
INCOME: 100 +
