This was my lowest limit card at $500 and has no rewards, but it has some age to it(7yrs), so I drawered it and just made the occasional misc. charge every 6mo to keep it active. Last month I requested a staggering $500 CLI to double my limit and make it somewhat usable if I had the need. I received message the increase would need to be reviewed(ha!) and expect a 7-10 day outcome letter. The letter arrived in 16 days and showed declined due to Elan not having a physical address on file. I was fairly sure they did indeed have it, so I logged in when home and sure enough only the mailing address(which is another rant for another time with banks not understanding my having a mailing address, PO box, different than physical address) was listed in my profile. I updated my info, and again hit the request button for $500 CLI. Same noticed popped up about review...7-10 day...blah..blah. So I just gave up, bought a big gulp and bag of chips and tossed it back into the drawer. Received letter today congratulating me on my new $4500 limit! 8x what I asked for! Maybe they threw in some auto increases that I missed in those 7 years. Now my Chase Amazon is my lowest at $3k. Time to work on that one I guess.

chickenfoot123 you earned the limit! Congratulations on the huge increase Seems I read somewhere that banks/financial institutions are required to have physical address (had a problem getting any credit product) so I always used one line for the physical address and one line for the PO Box and that worked (four line address). The community I lived in had no delivery service so it seems a person is in a spot.
