After closing on my house on Thursday (a minor miracle itself, but a story for another post), I indulged myself that afternoon with an application spree. Within an hour I YOLO'd four applications. Though the final result didn't come in until this afternoon.
First, some DPs.
F8 and F9 scores ranged from 797 to 819.
Aside from the mortgage inquiry, no HPs for several years.
Utilization: 6%
AoOA: 8 years 5 months
AAoA: 8 years
Income: 90K
Now, the results.
I applied for the Elan MCP through a local bank. Instantly approved for $5K.
Using the code on a mailer I applied for the Citizens Cash Back Plus World Mastercard, a decent-if-not-great 1.8% card with an excellent promotion: six months of 10% back (up to $500/month) on gas, restaurants, and entertainment. Approved for $15K.
Next up came Citi Custom Cash. Approved for $6,800.
Finally, Affinity FCU let me know this afternoon they approved me for their Cash Rewards Visa Signature for $15K. I joined them roughly eight months ago, and currently have a modest savings account there.
Some credit pull DPs.
I live in PA. Both Citi and Citizens pulled Equifax. Elan used Transunion, and Affinity hit Experian.
Like many others, I give credit to this community for my being able to get credit. To cite one example of many, I would have had no clue about Elan or Affinity without this forum.
At this point people usually say they'll go back into the garden. Bucolic metaphor aside, I just very likely won't apply for another credit card until next year.
I will likely pass the time until then with bank bonuses. I've collected on approximately a dozen in less than a year. Though, again, that's a topic for another post.
