Pre-Approved for AMEX - Update: Approved

First time this has happened.... I was pre-approved for the Delta Platinum AMEX.....instead of the normal "approval".....it didn't Delcine, it went into a "processing" Status.....

has this happened to anyone ?

Best guess is they have to manually review your application depending on how quick you have gotten the other AMEX cards in your signature. Could give them a call to find out for sure what the hold up is.

How old/new are the other AMEX cards in your signature?

In addition to opening a bunch of accounts in a relatively short period, you are also nearing the maximum number of Amex revolving accounts one can have (which is five, does not include charge cards). I would not be surprised if they have to review or verify, and would just wait it out.

+1 This is what I was getting at. If those AMEX cards were gotten recently - even in a 24 month period - that is still a lot to get in that time frame. You said it might be opening Pandora's box to call and find out why the app went pending but I think the fact you applied for the Delta card already opened it.

I had that happen to me, when applying for the gold card. Pre-approved then got the same message.

I called them to see if they needed more info to help with the app. It turned out they just wanted to confirm I was the one applying for the card. I got an email about 30 seconds of hanging up, letting me know my card was on the way.
