Quick backstory
One month ago I applied for the Delta Gold Card and was declined.
Reasons listed as
- high balances on revolving accounts
- number of inqueries (11)
Since then my utilization is reporting as 8.8% my inqueries remain at 11 and my score increased from 636 to 689.
I just received the mail offer for the Delta Platinum Card. It doesn't indicate anywhere that its any form of Pre-Approval it just states:
"As a valued Gold Medallion Member, you've been selected to receive this eclusive offer
for the Delta Platinum SkyMiles Credit Card from American Express. Earn 15,000 MQM's
and 45,000 bonus miles, plus receive $100 statements credit." ($1000 spent in 3 months)
I understand that this offer is in no way an indication of increased probability of getting the card but I'm curious how soon is too soon to reapply?
This is an awesome offer and the offer expires April 20, 2014...
Nothing truly to add, but I did receive this same offer today. I just applied for the Gold AMEX Delta Skymiles last month.

Is this your EX score? Also what's your AAoA & do you have any baddies? With that score, i would say you would have a pretty good shot at it but once again just becuase you've received an offer like this doesn't guarantee the approval. It's your call though...
I don't have any baddies, average around 2 years and my score is TU through my Discover card...

Why don't you invest some $$ and get all FICO scores from the site and see where you are. Since AMEX usually pulls EX, you might wanna know what your score is and also to look over the report.
So I just went ahead and took your advice and EX 721, TU 724 and EQ 724
I'm not sure if this matters...

Great scores!! With no baddies on your report and your AAoA of 2yrs, i say go for it!
So I went ahead and applied - APPROVED!!!
Today I was approved for the AMEX Delta Gold - 2000 limit
and I also applied and was approved for Chase Freedom - 3500 limit
I applied for both mid February and was declined but with utilization down and credit score up I was approved.
All that I had to do was wait 30 days to re-apply!
Very nice! Congrats x2 on the approvals.
