Yo!
So I use my card at Burger King last night and get an email that my card went over its $950 limit. Ok, no biggie I log on the next morning to pay it down and see 3k+ available credit?
So I'm like whoa.
I call in and the rep verified that early this morning, Capital One put thru a CLI (that I didn't ask for cause I do it every 6 months and I just did one in July which got me to $950) raising my limit to $4950!!!!
Has this ever happened to any of you guys?
I'll have a Whopper Jr. and a side of CLI, please! Congrats! 🍔 💳
I have some friends who always carry high balances with cap1 and keep getting CLI's on their own. Then tell me. Guess what they do? Run it up more. And stay at the edge of their CL. So you already had a maxed out card. Dont run it up. Take this as a lucky moment and made it by an inch of OD fees. Congrats.

Before I found this forum, I thought the only way to get increases from Cap 1 (my only cc at the time) was to max the card out lol. Started me off with $300 (7/15), kept it high use and they bumped it to $500 (12/15). Kept using it and they bumped it to $3500 (5/16), kept my balance high and they bumped to $5500 (12/16). By that time I figured I had to keep it high use to get increases (and I had let my spend get out of control anyway), and that card was at over 90% of its limit from Dec 2016 to Nov 2018. Definitely take a look at your expenditures and look to decrease them and pay that card down, idk why Cap1 operates like that, but clearly they still do.
Wow, congratulations!

Congrats on the nice increase!
That is pretty epic! Usually those cards that start that low never get above about $3500. Big congrats!

Congrats on your Quicksilver approval!
Congratulations on your Quicksilver CLI!

Cap-1 appears to be loosening the strings, this info being borne out by posts such as yours
