I saw that Redstone FCU has a ~%5 apy savings account up to $2,500 and was very interested in joining this credit union. Thanks to a post from Gmood, I read that applying for this card is a way to both gain membership and get a card with 1 hp rather than 2 (one for joining, and one for apping for a card). I figured if i'm going to get an HP I may as well get a card too. Approved for $6,000. Pulled EX (Fico 8 is 740, not sure which version they look at). 17 inqs and newest account is 3 months old (new NFCU plat obvi not reporting yet), AAoA is around 1 year 1 month, oldest is 2.8 years. So, this credit union is definitely not sensitive to anything, but according to other posts it is still good idea to have a 700 score when apping. Very excited to get into this CU and maybe get their Visa Sig down the road. I apped at around 12 am (I am starting to see a correlation between my apping and being up late...) so it went into review but was approved at 9 am this morning. No verification besides when apping I uploaded my DL to 'prefill', i'm not sure if that was optional but I figured it wouldn't hurt for security verification.
The card has APR fixed at %18 but has 6 months intro %0. You get %5 CB at Rural King ( I live in Minneapolis so...) and %1.5 everywhere else so it is still a nice non-category card. I haven't seen an approval for less then $5,000 on myFico so if you're looking to join a CU and not get an initial toy-limit this might be a good choice.
Congrats!
