Hello friends!
Some of you might recall me being happy about being approved for a Sam's Club MasterCard back in August, but I was a little disappointed in the relatively low credit line they gave me ($1500). I've put over $1k on the card each month, each time PIF and I've tried the CLI button twice - both times I got an immediate message that 'We're unable to process your request' (or something like that).
My last try with the 'button' was just two days ago... so I when I checked the remaining credit on my account just today I was a bit surprised to see my new credit line as $4850! Now if I need some new tires, I won't have to be concerned with bumping up against my credit limit. I use the card to pay for hotel stays (off-brand) and restaurants, and each being in the 3% category is earning me $30+ cash rewards each month - not bad for a $45 membership fee! I've also realized that my local Kroger gas station earns 5% with the Sam's Club MasterCard - even though it's not supposed to - so until they change/fix that I'll be cashing in on that as well.
Just as a data point, my original CL was $1500 with a cash line of $300. My new credit line is $4850 with a cash line of $970. The credit line amount is a little weird, but that seems to be normal for Sam's Club/Wal-Mart credit cards... and I'm not complaining!
I know I could likely get more a little later on by going through Credit Solutions, but honestly this will likely be sufficient for me for a while... of course if they give me more 'auto-luv' I'm certainly not going to complain! ![]()
Now if I can only get them to honor the $20 statement credit for making a $50+ purchase the same day the account is opened... but that's for another thread.
Congrats on that nice increase!
Congrats on the CLI
