Thanks!  Just got an update on that... they sent me a SM (the second one) that they've given me a $20 credit effective 11/5.  The first SM claimed my samsclub.com purchase wasn't until two days after my account was opened and thus wasn't eligible, but it was only 15 minutes after the account was opened. 

In my second message I provided them the order number and told them the shipping date was actually the day before they claim the purchase was made (I have confirmation of that as well).  I know it's just $20, but when they first told me I wasn't going to get it (when I knew I followed the rules) it became more about 'the point' than the actual money.

Either way, assuming they follow through I'll be a happy camper once again... got my statement credit (hopefully)and now a CLI!

Congratulations!!!!  I also think this is one of the most underrated cards out there.   5% back on gas, 3% back on travel and dining---my only complaint is you have to wait a year to get it.    It is not the "coolest card" but it is very nice to have.
