Closed on my house yesterday. Applied for a two new cards I have been wanting and wanted to get them before the mortgage hit my reports.
Applied for Nebraska Furniture Mart card. If you live near a Nebraska Furniture Mart than you know this is a card you want. Instantly approved for $3500. Blew me away. I swear when I walked away I was floating. It honeslty felt that way. First time I have EVER been instantly approved. Felt wonderful. Bought a new mattress that came with a $300 gift card that I used to buy a new dishwasher with.
Also wanted a Discover IT card. Applied a few minutes ago and BAM - instant approval again. Set up my account etc but never saw what I was approved for. Called and they said $2500. I will take it.
What I already have is: Chase: $1000 and a Visa with my CU for $1000. VS: $350. Credit union told me at closing yesterday that they are raising my limit but didn't tell me what they are raising it to. I like to use that one for emergencies as the APR is only 8%. The Chase and Discover will be for everyday expenses and PIF each month.
Also moving my car loan over to the credit union at 1.5%.
In the garden I go for 18 months. My inquires are really high (like 6 per report) because of mortgage app etc. My AAoA will take a severe hit with a mortgage, second mortgage, car loan and 2 new credit cards hitting it all in one month. Hopefully in 18 months I will be in the high 700's.
Life is beautiful!!
Congrats and welcome to the garden!

Congrats!
Well played!
Congratulations Kathy! I've been following your threads and am excited for your success!
Well that trip to the garden lasted about 10 minutes. Decided I really needed a card for a home improvement store. Debated between Lowe's, Home Depot and Menards. Decided to go with Menards. Instant approval for $3000 so now I really am in the garden.
I rejected Lowe's because I was rejected two times for Walmart. It came down between Home Depot and Menards. Home Depot is very close to my home. I use them a lot but they are building a new Menards a few miles away and they seem to have better sales.
