I wanted to get in with CITI so I applied for the Shell Drive for Five...was approved for (don't spend it all at once) $200

Hey, congrats on the new Shell card! It's a start.................I want one too but need to wait a bit longer. $200.00 could get me through the month if I'm conservative. Or fill-up & PIF & start again.

Cool.

I think there are better cards though you could have gotten if you wanted that way in with Citi. The Best Buy cards provide much better limits than that one IMO. Did you check prequals for any Citi cards?

Congrats there JT! Just remember that its a HP for any CLI on this card. I have this card as well, and they started me with an $800 sl. I was like..I can handle that! LOL.. Ive heard though that with regular use, and pay on time monthly, that they do give auto's. So, I hope you get one later down the road. Its a decent gas card to have!

Here's my story. I have a Fuel Rewards card at $1,500. It was a Comenity soft pull SCT. Most stations who honor the rewards are Shell stations.

I apped for and was approved for a Citi card at nearly signature level. I then got approved for a Lowes card. Afterwards, I got declined at WalMart twice for "invalid account" on the Citi card. I panicked. Papademode here had all of his Citi cards closed due to apping for more cards. In 4 days I received 3 more offers for Citi cards and was wondering if they were baiting me so they could close my original account. I received the email for the Shell card. Then came the Double Cash offer to apply. The next day was Home Depot, all Citi backed cards. Luckily, it was just a glitch at WalMart and my Citi card works again now. Long story short, don't get too many card after being approved for Citi and if you want a gas card with a much higher limit, go for the Fuel Rewards card.
