I saw this post by ronstar7 http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Credit-Card-Approvals/Shell-Rocks/m-p/3255402#M107859 . I decided to give it a try and was approved. CitiBank pulled EX only and my score is 620. The limit they gave me is $500. That's good enough to manage gas expenses. 3 cents off per gallon plus FNR rewards makes it worth it. I'm also now in with Citi. I hope it helps build a relationship in the future with Citi because I still have a couple of baddies left on my CR. Thanks for the heads-up ronstar7.
Congrats!

Citi's store cards as the Shell is are issued by Citi Financial and not Citibank proper, I cannot get a Citi proper CC due to BK them 18 yrs ago but I can get all the co branded store cards I want.

@ronstar7 I will if you are sure it won't be a hp. Did your request for CLI ever show up as a hp?

Wow this I didnt know. It's interesting because the hp says CitiBank and does not indicate CitiFinancial. Also the credit card agreement for the card says CitiBank.
Congratulations!

I called and asked for increase. They granted it but I soon was alerted by Equifax . It was a hard pull! So for this card it's a hp on EX for application and a hp on EQ for credit increase. I'm still very happy.
