I'm allowing myself two credit inquiries per year.  Part of my rebuilding post BK.  I fuel at Shell a lot and decided to try the "pre-auth" feature on their website as I like not having a hard credit hit pre-approval.  I was approved for a $7500 limit.  My Ch 7 BK discharged in March 2024 so the rebuild is going awesome.   I applied for one other card this week and was also approved so my two inquiries for this year are used up.  

They hard pulled TU only after the pre-approval.  The card is issued by First Bank & Trust and managed by Imprint.

Congrats @CaptainConcorde . I too got this card about a month or two ago although without a hard pull. I know this is already too late but you can totally avoid a hard pull with Imprint issued cards. It works by unfreezing your Transunion and completing the preapproval process. After you complete the security check (ID scan plus live selfie) and are shown your credit limit offer - stop and go replace the freeze back on your TU credit file. Wait 5mins then accept the offer. They will still attempt the hard pull but it bounces off. You will be instantly accepted regardless. This how I acquired all 5 of my Imprint cards including Shell with no hard pull. Just sharing in case you decide to get another card with Imprint in the future, that way you can save an inquiry slot for another bank that requires a mandatory pull. FYI you can't redeem your cashback rewards manually. It's done automatically as a statement credit at the end of your billing cycle that you have a Shell purchase. I'm still waiting on the $50 bonus which takes the full 60 days to post.

I did unfreeze TU before using the pre-approval.  But I didn't know about the re-freeze before accept.  That's a good trick to remember.  Thanks!

At least now you know. I love their Rakuten Amex card something to have on your radar. If you ever pursue that, don't forget to follow the strategy!

I have the Rakuten AMEX, Booking.com, and this Shell card with Imprint.  All low limits to start, but I've enjoyed working towards the bonus on both the AMEX and Shell card.

@coreyb80 what limit did you get? I got $8k each on Rakuten and Booking.com but hit with a low $2k limit on the Shell Card.

Holiday Inn-Pending

I use the Shell exclusively for gas as I love the convenience of the Shell app.  Booking is my everyday card as I'm not spending much these days with a wedding approaching.  Hopefully, I'll see increases in the next 6-9 months.
