Found out today when I called them and via customer service online. They made this change to my account about 9 days ago. There's bascially not too much of a difference between the student and regular It cards but the starting CL and APR offers differ. Just wanted to let people know.

Wait, so they did it 9 days ago without you asking them to?

Hmmm, and I know you just turned the 6 month wheel. Maybe they do this for everyone that has their student edition? Sort of equivalent to a six month "unsecure" for secured cards.

Might be time to strike up a chat W/ Discover....

Maybe. Definitely either call them up or chat with them and just ask if the card has been converted to a regular Discover It or not.

Congrats. Did you ask for a CLI while you're at it ?  I bet they give you one.

I tried a few days ago but got declined again. The previous time was for length of time the account has been open. Six months isn't enough for Discover apparently.

That can't be right.  After my second statement, they gave me an auto CLI.   The month, after my 5th statement (the account has been open about 6.5 months) they gave me another auto CLI.  The CLI's are tiny, but I haven't used the card much.  I only put $10 of gas on the card last month.  Before that the last charge was in June to max out the home improvement quarter.   I didn't request either CLI, so that could be a difference.

I suspect they just want you to be more established in your career before granting you much credit.  But it is just a guess.
