Feeling kind of cool as I know Citi is one of the harder Recon's. Originally applied for the Citi Forward card for Students a few weks ago. I'm not really sure how because now the application is completely gone and the card discontinued. Anyway, was denied for lack of credit. Called for regular Recon, still denied. Called back, still denied. Applied for the Citi Divdend for College Students, denied for too many inquiries.
Finally contacted the Executive Response Unit and worked personally with someone who informed me that the computer automatically denied my application and it was never even really looked at. He didn't understand why it was denied. Forwarded my application to the President's Office or something like that who advised him that if I submitted documentation they would entertain re-reviewing my application.
Submitted Utility Bill, Proof of Income, and Proof of enrollment. Was approved today with an intial CL of 1k and NO credit history at all. Not a bad limit at all considering I just turned 18 a month ago and the card is unsecured.
I've also been approved for the Discover it $500, and the Capital One Journey $300.
Headed to the Garden! Woooohoooo!

Congrats! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks everyone!
I never got denied for the card but I also had to call them to verify the same kind of information and also got a $1K credit limit back in September of last year but for the Forward card. Congrats!
I also have the same credit limit on my Discover IT card.
