Synchrony Venmo Credit Card Approved with $40k credit limit

Received an email with a targeted triple cashback offer within the first six months; that is, the normal 3/2/1% becomes 9/6/3% for the first six months.  The list of categories has great coverage, so you could get 9% or 6%, depending on whether it's the top spending category during the statement cycle, on travel, grocery including wholesale stores, dining, utility, or gas.  Applied and received instant approval with a $40k credit limit (temporary $15k limit immediately available with virtual card; full $40k limit after receiving and activating physical card).  Was pleaseantly surprised with this high credit limit after seeing reports of low-ish limits on Synchrony cards.

Thanks!  I have pretty high limits on several of my other cards: three cards with around $50k limit each, and two cards with >$90k each.

I thought the Venmo cards maxed out at $25k - $27k maximum limit or has that recently changed? 🤔

I was pleasantly surprised by the 40k limit as well because I was expecting a lower limit from the DPs I've seen here. A friend of mine applied and received the same 40k limit but the temp limit before activating the physical card was only 5k. Interesting to see that they vary the temp limit for different people even with the same non-temp limit
