I just called the underwriters number ((877) 379-8173) just for giggles and asked for a CLI (bored mostly).
I never use the card and it has a CL of $2,500.
I decided to ask for $20,000 (my other cards are: Chase Freedom ($5,500), Wells Fargo cash back ($2,900), Capital One Quicksilver ($10,000), Discover It ($14,500), American Express Blue Cash Preferred ($14,500) & BofA 1-2-3 cash back ($25,000)), so $20,000 wasn't COMPLETELY crazy to think I'd get, but I still was expecting a counteroffer.
After being on hold for 2 minutes, she got back on the line and congratulated me for the approval from $2,500 to $20,000!!
I couldn't believe it!
I just hope I don't get a CLD soon, with all the craziness that's going on with synchrony.
Thanks for reading!
Cheers!
Is this your one and only SYNCB account?

Oh good.
Typically other myfico members have a bunch of SYNCB accounts with high exposure. Since you only have this one and now at $20k, your exposure should be fine. Congrats.
What is your current TU score?

Well by exposure I mean how much total credit you have with one credit card issuer. There are quite a few members on here who have nearly $75k-$100k of exposure with SYNCB. While its nice to have that amount of credit, its also dangerous when it comes to a issuer reevaulating those customers large overall credit exposures. Last year alot of those members got nifty Blue Envelopes of Death from SYNCB because of those very large exposures. It eventually led to closures of all accounts.
I have about $21k of credit spread out between five cards with SYNCB and IMO I think that's just fine at this time.

Yeah both score and the fact that this is your only card helps get a good limit with Synchrony. Exposure means the amount of credit a lender is willing to give you, no matter the number of cards you get with them. For example if Synchrony determined you can only have $25k, then no matter what you apply for, the max you will ever get in another card is $5k, because you already have $20k with them.
Hope that helps.

Thanks! That definitely helps!
Do you know if synchrony has a "standard" exposure amount or if that differs from person to person based on credit profile etc.?
Cheers!
