Was looking over some older threads involving Target MC approvals and how they where finally opening up the vaults wih several in the $2k-8k range. I myself got the store card addition during my credit building stages. Started off with a $300 limit that grew to a whopping $500 limit. This was a time when target was starting to offer mastercard versions to random clients with no rhime nor reason. Being impatient with them I axed them from my collection back in 2017. Decided today to give them a revisit and pulled the trigger. Instant approval with a $300 temp limit. Thinking to myself here we go again with this low limit purgatory but, decided to call in to customer service and get the real facts on my approval. Rep said that was the temp limit and my actual limit was $8,000. I was really pleased to hear that my temp limit which was my store card starting limit wasn't a bad sign after all. Thanks for looking. Any questions please ask away.

Was at the tail end of a spree with 7-8 inquiries in as many days so scores took a ding but they didn't seem to care.
Target Approval!
It sucks that you were held back a few years ago.
Very nice bounce back with the $8000!

If only Target would make it possible to apply directly only for the MC, they'd get apps from a few of us that don't want a store card.
Congrats on the great approval!

Congrats on the great approval!
Thanks @Jeffster1! I agree they should make the app process more straight forward. Case in point I went to Nordstroms and applied for the Visa version to upgrade from the store card. And wouldn't you know they re approved me for the store card again! And get this $300 toy limit which was lower than my first approval with them for $1,000 SL. Nothng ceases to amaze anymore in the credit game.

@credit_endurance That is so frustrating to hear about Nordstrom. Back in my previous life (before my 13 in 2017), I had a Nordstrom Visa which I held since 2004. Nordstrom had its own bank and you could apply for the Visa directly. They offered personalized service and were very generous with CLs. The card was a beautiful sleek sparkling silver.
And what do they expect you to buy at Nordstrom with a CL of $300? They're insane,
Huge congrata again!
CONGRATS!!!!!
Its one of my favorite cc's, I use it a lot.
If you order something online over 35 bucks shipping is free, and they ship fairly fast, ymmv.
If you are a veteran or active military Target offers an additional 10 pct off on top of the 5 pct for the Red Card for one week around 4th of july and one week around veterans day. You are allowed 2 discount shopping trips during each period. They used to just accept a VIC as proof of service but they told me people abused it so now you have to register with Target circle and enter your phone number at the checlout.
Congrats on the approval

@SUPERSQUID thanks so much! It's a gem in the retail space. Certainly makes up for my Nordstroms experience which is also through TD bank. Go figure 🙄
