So I just knew I would get the MasterCard since it tries to approve for that one first but nope I got the store card again sl 2k w a 775eq and clean file I am in complete awe and trying to decide whether to keep it cuz I do shop there a lot btw I have no problem closing cards I'm just on the fence w this one Ik 2k use to be a great approval for Target but recently I've seen ppl getting 5k or 6k and the Mc no less so I'm a little bitter lol do they let you request increases now?

I second this. Too many people let pride get in the way of making good decisions. Damage is already done by HP and then accepting the approval.

Not necessarily.
When I applied for the Navy Federal Platinum card last month, they only approved me for a sl of $1,000...which, needless to say, i was not too pleased about. I promptly sent a secure message telling them to close it; and even though I incurred a hard pull, the account was never reported to the bureaus.
As an aside, since I don't apply for new cards often, this is currently the only inquiry I have on TU, so I suppose I can afford to be nonchalant about it.
