Truist Approved!!

After being denied by PenFed and Navy Federal due to new accounts, I decided to take a chance with Truist—and it paid off! I opened a Truist checking account, applied for both a credit card and a personal loan, and was approved for a $6,000 personal loan and a $6,600 credit card simultaneously. The credit card even offers 0% on balance transfers for 15 months. Truist pulled my Equifax FICO 8 score, which was 745. I went with Truist because of below.

"

What Sets the Truist Future Credit Card Apart

The Truist Future Credit Card isn’t groundbreaking and in fact has no unique features that truly “set it apart.” Its most distinctive attributes relate to its 0% APR promotion and low ongoing APR:

0% APR for 15 Months From Account Opening on Eligible Purchases and Balance Transfers. The Truist Future card has matching 15-month 0% APR intro promotions for purchases and balance transfers. The promotional rate applies to all purchases made within the first 15 months and to balance transfers made within the first 60 days of account opening (with the 0% APR period lasting the full 15 months from account opening).Low Ongoing APR. The Truist Future card has a relatively low ongoing APR, though variable and dependent on your creditworthiness. I always counsel against carrying interest-bearing balances unless absolutely necessary, but if you must, this is a decent card to do so with.Access to Truist Deals. Truist Deals is Truist’s in-house shopping and affiliate rewards portal. It’s not groundbreaking by any means, but certainly worth checking out if you want to save on purchases you’d make anyway."

Re: Truist Approved!!

Congratulations. Before going to Truist, were you seeking only credit unions that pulled from Equifax only?

Re: Truist Approved!!

I think so. Equifax is my strongest credit profile at the moment. The denials were basically my accounts were too new with both PenFed and Navy-Fed I'll try again with them sometime in the future. At present my credit oldest account is 16 yrs my average credit age is 4 years. My revolving utilizationis 15 percent  my revolving limit 50,000 with 7000.00 balance. my dti is 35% 10,000 per month bring home 3500.00 spent per credit report  this does not include living daily and taking care of family.

Re: Truist Approved!!

Ok, my wife has a super thin file with some baddies reporting on EX and TU, but her EQ FICO 8 is in the 800s and yet she will not risk a HP on EQ without a pre-approval. Sounds like Truist would have been a good place to sent her, but just moved West where are no local branches. (NFCU is no for her and Penfed only does HPs).
