Waiting to apply for USB Cash Plus for the longest. I heard they are a difficult lender so I opened a checking, deposited a few grand to try to establish some rapport with them. and waited 6+ months from my last TU inquiry to apply. Did preapproval 2 weeks ago, they said yes. It seems like if you try to check on the status of a preapproval a second or third time, USB will not let you. It keeps the app in purgatory, and once you actually apply, it will submit the application with the date of the preapproval, not the date of the application. Any time i retried a pre, it showed a message screen that they will contact me in 7-10 days. All what happened is that I received a letter saying I couldnt do a preapproval bc one was already pending.
I applied on 9/15, late evening. I had all CRA frozen except TU bc I saw on DoctorofCredit ( https://www.doctorofcredit.com/credit-bureaus/which-credit-bureau-does-each-card-issuer-pull/ ) that TU was mostly likely for my state. Received a reject email telling me to unfreeze EQ specifically, with link and phone in the email. I unfroze EQ, and resubmitted app; next screen said manual review and would receive answer in 7-10 days. Next day, 9/16 received approval for only $3500. Credit scores are below, hovering around mid 700s. Im not sure if that is why. or my short checking history with USB. or that I had a USB Triple Cash for business app back in march that pulled TU; I had a 5k balance (0%) and paid it in the weeks before i applied for Cash Plus. I primarily want to use for utilities, which may seem low but maybe they will SP CLI later on.
