USAA Approvals!

So I here I am watching NBC "what we wasted our year on" and was trolling USAA forums here. im downgraded to a partial member, and while reading the forums , in my drapping state, decided to end the year on a high note. App'd for both the USAA Amex and World MC. And the Duck card. Got the 7-10 day message for that. But approved for both USAA online at $7K each. I'm super excited!! First drunk app spree. I'm officially done for the next 18 months!. Uber rebuilding year so to end the year w/ $50K worth of credit(not counting AMEX charge cards), is my ultimate accomplishment!! I will be planting the seed tomorrow morning!!

Looks as if the elusivity of USAA is slowly disappearing...

I don't think there has been an elusivity with them. You either qualify or you don't. With that being said, I believe any relationship you have with them work In your favor as long as your scores/credit profile justify it. Just my two cents. And thank you!

You are right. USAA was founded for active, retired military personnel and their families. For a brief period they allowed some products to be open to a broader audience on a limited basis. Unless there is a direct military connection, the property and casualty products have not been available to limited memberships. USAA was founded by and for military personnel much like several credit unions that exist and have provided products as we have seen on this website to a broader audience. The really closed it back to the more pure military roots.
