USAA Preffered Cash Rewards Visa. This is my first credit card and my SL was $500. After 3 statements, I requested CLI (on 06/2017) and my limit was $2000. On Feb 2018, I requested CLI again, but I mistyped the number. I should have typed yearly income, but I typed only monthly income. Because of that my CLI was declined.
So today I re-requested CLI with my yearly income, now my credit limit is $6500.
Here is my question. The credit card I have with me is just "visa" logo on the card. But my credit limit is more than $5000, my account now is visa signature. Will I receive a new visa signature logo card? Or do I need to contact USAA to request one? TIA.

Congrats on your CLI!
My experience with USAA has been that 'Platinum' cards stay platinum; my oldest card with them was opened with a $7k credit line as a platinum, and now has a $12k credit line and is still 'platinum' (both the card and with the credit bureaus). On the other hand my newer card was approved at $5.5k as a 'Signature' and also reports that way (i.e. reports as a flexible spending account).
You might try calling to see if you can get an upgrade to Signature, but I've never read/heard of anybody doing that before. Also, unless you specifically need Signature benefits it might not be worth the effort, anyway. If you decide to try be sure to let us know how it turns out. ![]()
Again, congrats on the CLI! ![]()
Congrats on your cli!
Thanks! I did online chat with USAA and USAA won't do upgrade regular visa to visa signature. Anyway, I will wait at least 6 months to request another CLI.

No. Your initial cl would have to have been 5k or above. You would have to reapply for the card and as long as the sl is 5k or above you will get the Signature. You do realize that all of cli are hard pulls.
Is this the case now with all of their cards?
In late 2014 was approved for a USAA Rewards Visa with a $7k credit line that was 'Platinum' card; perhaps that's changed for the better.

Platinum are card issuers level (gold, platinum)—has not to do with VISA the brand which states that card issues will only allow a card to have the VISA SIGNATURE LOGO limits with sl starting at 5k or above. I have the USAA PREFERRED CASH REWARDS VISA signature because the starting line was 11000. I also have the USAA Limitless with just the VISA Logo because the sl was just 4K. I know people with the Signature Visa version of the Limitless because the sl was at least 5k
We're getting a bit off-topic now, but it's incorrect that Visa states that card issuers will only allow a card to have the Visa Signature logo with sl starting at $5k or above... US Bank and Chase are both notorious for issuing new Visa Signature cards with $500 credit lines.
Back to USAA, I do know that their Limitless comes in both varieties, with SLs over $5k getting the 'Signature' version, but what I don't know is that if USAA is now issuing all Visa cards with credit lines over $5k as Signature accounts. That said, for the purpose of this thread it doesn't matter, and @Anonymous was able to verify that an upgrade to Signature isn't possible (at least not at this time) which is what is important here.
